Kapwa, Bayanihan, Ligaya

This mural centers three Filipino values: kapwa, bayanihan, and ligaya — ideas that speak to shared humanity, collective care, and joy in community.

Kapwa is a foundational Filipino philosophy that recognizes the self in others. It reminds us that we exist not as individuals alone, but in relationship with one another.

Bayanihan is the spirit of collective action — neighbors helping neighbors, communities working together to support and uplift each other.

Ligaya means joy: the happiness that emerges when people gather, share food, laughter, and stories.

Set within a lush environment of tropical flora and organic forms, the mural reflects the warmth and vibrancy of Filipino culture while honoring the importance of connection and hospitality. Together, these ideas celebrate the beauty of community — the simple yet profound act of being together.
